Are you there God,

It’s me Julia and I have a confession- I am a blush addict (maybe a full on beauty adict).  There is something about the rosy pink of a blush that calls my name.  I am not particular- I love cream blushes, powders, blushes with shimmer, matte options, even barbie pinks.  Who knows why.  Maybe it’s because at 13 I was reading Judy Bloom instead of playing with makeup or maybe its because at 17, I was too miserable to even contemplate the wonder that is makeup. Maybe its because in college I was trying to be an intellectual? HA….

Let’s be honest, I  missed out!   All I know know is that blush is the best and if you don’t own more than one- you should.  I never leave the house with out it and I think it gives the most dramatic pick me up to a tired face!

Creams are more natural and leave the skin with a dewey finish.  In the summer and winter they are just so easy to slap on your cheak and your good to go.  For night time, I love to layer a cream under a powder blush.  This is probably excessive, but hey I have a problem, and the layering makes sure my blush is staying put!

To find the perfect color to fake a natural glow- pinch your checks and look at the color your skin naturally flushes to.  Then, choose a color somewhat similar to that color.  You will always look like you walked out a Jane Austen novel.

Another easy way to choose a blush is to consider your natural lip color, your check color should compliment the color in your lips.  This also goes when you are wearing a bright lip.  S0 when wearing bright pink lips, choose a pink toned blush!

My personal favorites:

Creams: Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera; Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm in Rosy Glow (also an amazing lip gloss)

Powders: Nars Blush in Deep Throat; Bobbi Brown Blush in Nude Pink
